At KitaBina, every project starts with an idea—and sometimes, those ideas turn into something much bigger than just wood and nails.
This is the story of Kevin Wong, who came to our woodworking centre with a heartfelt goal: to build a giant dollhouse for his 4-year-old daughter.
From Idea to Reality
Kevin’s journey began with our Tool Training (TT Levels 1, 2, and 3), where he built his foundation in safe tool use and essential woodworking skills. Once he had the basics down, he enrolled in our Bina Basics course—a program designed to take a student’s idea and bring it to life with guidance, structure, and plenty of hands-on practice.
What started as a simple sketch and an excited idea soon became a tangible build. Piece by piece, Kevin measured, cut, joined, and assembled the giant dollhouse, learning new skills at every stage.
A Three-Day Transformation
In just three workshop sessions, Kevin’s dedication and determination came together in the form of a beautiful, multi-level dollhouse—custom-built, sturdy, and filled with love.
More than just a woodworking project, it was a journey of:
Skill growth – from tool handling to precise joinery Creativity – turning a personal idea into a real build Parenthood in action – crafting something meaningful for his child
Why We Love Stories Like This
At KitaBina, woodworking isn’t only about making furniture or learning techniques—it’s about building confidence, creativity, and connection. Kevin’s dollhouse stands as a reminder that when you step into our workshop, you’re not just building objects—you’re building memories, skills, and sometimes, even family heirlooms.
We’re proud of Kevin and his magnificent build, and we can’t wait to see what he’ll create next.
