problem statements
that you will tackle in this camp:

1. Why?
Why are we making a Go-Kart?

2. Steering?
How do we make a kart with 4 wheels turn?

3. What Happens?
What happens when you turn a 4 wheel vehicle?

4. How To Get Power?
How to we get power to the wheels?

5. Direct Drive Problems
If the drill is attached to a fixed gear, what happens when the kart stops?

6. Acceleration?
How do we control our acceleration?

7. How To Stop?
Now that we can go, how do we stop?
Go-kart powered by a drill.
This program is designed with accessible parts you can get anywhere, with a super low budget, and with high ability to customize.
It may not be able to race, but it gives you the key technological insights into how a 4-wheeled vehicle works, and why each mechanical system is designed in a certain way.
5-Day Program Agenda:
⚙️ Intro, Tool Training & Chassis Build
- Introduction to tools, safety, and workshop basics
- Why we’re making a go-kart
- Build the wooden body and chassis of your kart
🔩 Steering & Control Systems
- Understand how a 4-wheel vehicle turns
- Demonstration of real steering mechanics
- Build and test your own steering rig prototype
⚡ Power & Drive System
- Learn how power transfers to wheels
- Build your own drive system
- Test run and fine-tune your powered kart
🛑 Braking & Safety Systems
- Explore how braking works and why it matters
- Build a simple mechanical braking system
- Test, troubleshoot, and improve stopping performance
🏁 Final Adjustments & Race Day!
- Final tuning and balance checks
- Race your completed kart on the track
- Team sharing, reflections, and photo session
"To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk."

Customize your drill-powered kart and bring it home.
Bring home your fully customized EV kart, complete with all the parts that you will actually be using to build the kart throughout the program. Just top up your participant ticket fee.
It includes your very own Power Drill that you can detach and use for other projects!
Also learn some of the following basic woodworking skills:
Nurturing Problem-Solvers.
We blend creativity with engineering thinking. Every project begins with a question — how does this work, and how can we make it better? Through hands-on experiments, prototyping, and testing, participants learn to think like real engineers: observing, adjusting, and solving problems in the physical world.

FAQs
1. What exactly will we build in this camp?
You’ll build a real drill-powered wooden go-kart from scratch, complete with steering, drive, and braking systems. It’s a true hands-on introduction to how electric vehicles work.
2. Who is this camp for?
It’s designed for teens (13–17 years old) and adults who enjoy tinkering, problem solving, and understanding how things work. Beginners are 100% welcome. No prior woodworking or engineering experience needed.
3. Do I need to bring my own tools or materials?
No. Everything you need, from tools, wood, and components to motors and safety gear, is included. Just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.
4. Is this safe?
Yes. Every session begins with a safety briefing, and all work is closely guided by our trained instructors. Participants use tools suitable for their age and skill level under supervision.
5. What will I actually learn?
You’ll learn mechanical design, prototyping, and real-world problem solving. Each day focuses on a key engineering challenge such as motion, steering, power, and braking, helping you think like an engineer while creating something tangible.
6. Can I keep the go-kart after the camp?
Yes. Participants can choose to keep their go-kart by selecting the “Take Home Kart” option with an additional fee.
7. Where and when is the camp held?
📍 KitaBina Woodworking Centre, Subang Jaya
🗓️ 8–12 December 2025 (Monday to Friday)
8. Is lunch provided?
Yes. Lunch and drinks are included in the camp fee.
9. Do participants work individually or in teams?
Both. You’ll start with individual builds to understand concepts, then work together to test, race, and problem solve like a real engineering team.
10. What makes this camp different from other STEM programs?
Unlike classroom-based STEM workshops, this camp is fully hands-on and real. Participants use actual materials, tools, and power systems to understand physics and mechanics through doing, not just theory.
