PROJECT IDEAS:

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Learn the very basics of design: sketch, ideate, work with constraints, and take ideas from your imagination to real life.
  • Create either a vehicle, animal, airplane, or anything else from your brain!
  • Understand the constraints and how to problem solve around them.
  • Expand creative thinking by object substitution, using one object to represent something else.
  • A woodworking version of Montessori building blocks, taking it one step further by creating a toy that you can interact with!
  • Be introduced to a variety of woodworking tools and how to correctly use these tools in a safe manner.
  • If interested in learning how to use tools to make bigger projects, please join our Junior Tryout (5-11yo) / Teen Tryout (12-15yo) / Bina Basics (16 and above)

Event FAQs

What will be provided?

All PPE, materials and tools will be provided

How many instructors will be in the class?

Instructor:student ratio is normally 1:4

Is woodworking safe for kids?

Yes, it is totally safe. We have chosen projects suitable for the capabilities of typical 7yo - 12yo participants, and we will not be introducing any high risk power tools in this session particularly, until they have proven that they are proficient in those tools.

In the case of any unwanted physical injury or emergencies, our instructors are first-aid trained and will tend to the matter immediately.

Will the participants be able to bring home anything?

Yes, each participant will bring home the project they have made.

Do you have a waiting area?

Sorry, we don't have any waiting area in our workshop. Guardians can head to nearby McD / Da Men mall / mamak shops, or can wait outside the workshop

Can parents/guardians participate together with the children?

Parents can also participate inside the class, but limited to space (eg. if we reach 15 participants max capacity, then no parents are allowed in)
